Mr. Bond and The Science Guys was founded by British born Keith Trehy, who attended the American University in Washington, D.C. on a soccer scholarship. Trehy earned a Bachelor of Science in Chemistry. Trehy now has a team of “edutainers” - teachers and entertainers whose mission it is to show kids that science is fun, cool and easy. The Science Guys are Mr. Bond (Trehy), Professor Greybeard (John Wicks), Haz-Matt (Matt Simms), Dr. Evil (Kari Donovan), Ionic Bond (Siena Trehy) and Fennomenon (Fenn Trehy.) Cosmic Carol (Buttenham) at Bond Edutainment manages booking and marketing. Most of the employees live or have lived in the 37206 or 37216 zip code. Trehy raised his family this side of the river and both of his children attend or have attended East Nashville schools.

The Shelby Bottoms Nature Center is an environmental education and recreation facility of the Nashville Metropolitan Board of Parks and Recreation. The Nature Center is a place where people can enjoy learning about our natural and urban landscape, the flora and fauna that call it home, the cultural history of the area, and the many complex interactions of what we so simply call “nature.” It is a place to learn (or remember!) that we are a part of nature and not apart from it.
