2012 Mr. Bond, Science Guy Camps
Summer Science Programs at MBA, Harding Academy and GJCC
NASHVILLE, Tenn. (January 2012) — Nashville’s future scientists will be excited to learn Mr. Bond, Science Guy is holding a minimum of 11 camps with 6 different themes to choose from this coming summer. Montgomery Bell Academy, Harding Academy and Gordon Jewish Community Center are confirmed for camps starting June 4, 2012 through August 3, 2012. The science guys (and girls) will be busy with 2, three-hour camps daily starting in the morning and at noon Monday through Friday.
Local mad scientist, Mr. Bond, Science Guy and his assistants make science fun and cool to local area elementary school students at their in school workshops held throughout the school year. The summer months allow for more concentrated programs where the students attend 3 hour sessions 5 days a week focusing on one main science theme at each camp. This year’s themes include Space, Bizarre Science, Environmental, CSI Nashville, Energy and Crazy Chemistry camps.
Along with other experiments CSI-Nashville campers will perform DNA analysis and lift fingerprints. Energy camp participants get to make electric cars and launch rockets. Space camp teaches about life on a space station and Crazy Chemists learn the science of combustion cooking, Bizarre Science and Mini Bizarre Science (for 4-5 year olds) are full of fun and crazy experiments like creating a genie in a bottle and Environmental campers pollute a lake and then create filters to clean it up. As with the 2011 Winter Camp at MBA one lucky future scientist will receive free tuition just by entering through Mr. Bond’s website www.mrbondscienceguy.com. Details will be updated on the website as they become available.
Keith Trehy, aka Mr. Bond, has been teaching kids science for over 12 years in Tennessee. Nashville Zoo’s Jim Bartoo says Mr. Bond is the “best physical science presentation in Middle Tennessee. He keeps the kids engaged and teaches while having fun. This is the way science education should be presented. This is why kids choose to learn more about science.”
Born in London, England, Trehy is a chemist with over 20 years experience teaching in countries as far afield as Japan, China, France and Poland. Formerly known as “Mad Science Nashville,” Mr. Bond changed his name in 2008 and is known to kids all over Middle Tennessee for his funny accent and his brilliant dry ice shows, electricity demonstrations and hands-on workshops. “My mission is to show kids that science is fun,” says Trehy.

Mr. Bond, Science Guy Gives Away Free Tuition at Winter Camp
Science Programs at MBA, JCC, Nashville Zoo and Discovery Center
NASHVILLE, Tenn. (December 2011) — East Nashville’s own ‘Bill Nye’ returns to Montgomery Bell Academy, 4001 Harding Rd. for winter break 2011. Local Mad Scientist, Mr. Bond, Science Guy and assistants will hold a Science Camp from noon until 3 p.m., December 19 through 23. One lucky future scientist will receive free tuition just by entering through Mr. Bond’s website www.mrbondscienceguy.com. The winner will be announced December 12, 2011.
Campers will do a DNA analysis, lift fingerprints, make molds of bites, collect bones, and build a skeleton. Participants will also get their own CSI equipment to take home with them after the camp is over. Future scientists in Bellevue and surrounding areas will also have the opportunity to learn about Science at the Gordon Jewish Community Center of Nashville’s Winter Camp. Space Camp will run December 19 through 23 from 9 a.m. until noon. More details can be found at http://www.nashvillejcc.org.
Fans can still catch Mr. Bond, Science Guy this fall at the Nashville Zoo and at the Discovery Center in Murfreesboro. Ghouls at Grassmere presents Mr. Bond for Halloween shows October 29 and 30 at 6 p.m. both evenings at the Nashville Zoo, 3777 Nolensville Pike, Nashville.
