7th Annual "Science Spectacular" Fundraiser for Shelby Bottoms Nature Center

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (January 2020) — East Nashville's, Mr. Bond’s Science Guys present their 7th annual “Science Spectacular” to benefit Shelby Bottoms Nature Center. This year future scientists and their families will have five opportunities to watch or volunteer in a hands-on science demonstration every 1st Saturday at 10 am, January through May. Attendees are asked to register and will be encouraged but not required to make a donation to Shelby Bottoms on the day of the event.     

Each winter and spring since 2014 Mr. Bond’s Science Guys have held free science shows at Shelby Bottoms Nature Center to raise funds for the nonprofit, promote upcoming science camps and to spark excitement about science in the community. 

Dates: January 4, February 1, March 7, April 4, and May 2, 2020.

Mr. Bond’s Science Guys are a team of “edutainers” - teachers and entertainers - whose mission it is to show kids that science is fun, cool and easy. They perform interactive, hands-on science programs. Audience members and participants appreciate the high energy and playful nature of these programs. The Shelby Bottoms shows are The Science Guy’s opportunity to "give-back" to the East Nashville community (their home base) by raising money for Shelby Bottoms Nature Center.

About Mr. Bond and the Science Guys

The Science Guys were STEM before STEM was cool! Mr. Bond (Keith Trehy) and his organization have devoted over 20 years to inspiring kids to love science via their inspirational hands-on demonstrations that make science Fun, Cool and Easy! The Science Guys’ uncanny crowd control makes them a favorite at special events including birthday parties, in-school field trips, assemblies, fairs & festivals, and library shows. Winter, Spring and Summer school breaks offer more comprehensive hands-on science programs where campers focus on one central science theme at each camp.Mr. Bond’s Science Guys’ camps inspire a lifelong enthusiasm for science and learning, teaching creative problem-solving skills, teamwork, and perseverance in an entertaining, kid-friendly setting. The camps are full or half-day and are excellent for ages 5 - 12. Sibling discounts are available.  

 About Shelby Bottoms Nature Center

The Shelby Bottoms Nature Center is an environmental education and recreation facility of the Nashville Metropolitan Board of Parks and Recreation. The Nature Center is a place to enjoy learning about our natural and urban landscape, the flora and fauna that call it home, the cultural history of the area, and the many complex interactions of what we so simply call “nature.” It is a place to learn (or remember!) that we are a part of nature and not apart from it.
